Becky Gravenor

Becky grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon, in the English countryside before making the move to Canada. She continued to work as a visual manager for fashion brands in Toronto, whilst developing designs for Toast & Yarn.

Her inspirations are varied and ever changing- for the moment; fisherman sweaters, Rothko, English flora and fauna, but always in optimistic, joyful colour. Somehow these things come together over a cup of tea, to create the styles you love.

Currently, Becky lives and works in Port Colborne, a small lakeside town in Ontario, Canada.

Toast & Yarn

Yearning for a creative outlet after the birth of her first child, Becky took up a hobby taught to her by her Mother and Grandmother. Continuing a craft that has been traditionally practised by women for generations.

The name Toast & Yarn came from the reality of trying to preserve some creative time for myself whilst caring for my curious (sticky fingered) child.

After working in the fashion industry, it was important that Toast & Yarn be sustainable and independent from the fast fashion calendar.

Often drawing on traditional techniques for inspiration, each piece is designed to be an artful and easy addition to your wardrobe, handmade in luxurious, sustainable materials.

Handmade pieces made to be worn, made to be loved and made to be treasured.
